Shehnaz Bhujwala - Senior Associate

Shehnaz Bhujwala helps consumers harmed by wrongdoing corporations and insurance companies to obtain justice through consumer class actions, complex business litigation, and catastrophic personal injury cases. As a consumer attorney, Ms. Bhujwala has helped to bring about successful settlements and verdicts on numerous, high-profile cases. These successes include a $58 million jury verdict for a construction worker who suffered severe burn injuries from a defective O-ring; settlement with a major television network on behalf of a news reporter who was severely burned when her mobile transmission truck struck overhead power lines; the historic settlements with the Los Angeles and San Diego Archdioceses on behalf of hundreds on Clergy sex abuse survivors; and settlement with the Writers Guild of America on behalf of a class of writers to ensure payment of foreign levy funds due and owing to them.
Ms. Bhujwala graduated from USC Law School and was admitted into the California State Bar in 2002. During her education, Ms. Bhujwala externed for the Hon. U.S. District Court Judge Robert M. Takasugi, counseled victims of domestic violence through LACBA's Domestic Violence Project, and participated in the law school's 2001 Moot Court competition. She is also a graduate of UCLA, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1997 with high honors for her research in the intersecting fields of cognitive psychology and the law. After graduation from law school, Ms. Bhujwala joined Greene, Broillet, Panish & Wheeler, a plaintiffs' litigation firm, where she was privileged to work alongside some of the finest trial lawyers in this state on high-profile, product liability cases against national auto and tire manufacturers and other corporate entities. Through this work, Ms. Bhujwala discovered a passion for effecting positive changes for consumers and holding corporate wrongdoers accountable for their misdeeds consumers through the legal system.
In 2007, Ms. Bhujwala joined Kiesel Boucher Larson, LLP in its fight for justice against numerous, Catholic entities on behalf of survivors of Clergy sexual abuse. Following the successful resolution of these cases, she expanded her practice to consumer class actions and other complex litigation cases to achieve justice for her clients. She is presently a member of the firm's privacy rights litigation team, a specialized area of practice that focuses on corporate violations of the privacy rights of consumers in this technological era. She is presently co-lead, class counsel in a class action against Pacific Bell Telephone Company for its participation in the wiretapping conspiracy orchestrated by former Hollywood private investigator, Anthony Pellicano.
