Paul Kiesel Appointed Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs in National AVANDIA Litigation

KBL is honored to announce the recent appointment of senior partner, Paul R. Kiesel, to serve as co-lead counsel for the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee in the "In Re: Avandia Marketing, Sales Practices And Product Liability Litigation.

On March 28, 2011, the Plaintiff's Steering Committee selected Mr. Kiesel to lead this multi-district litigation. This important, national litigation involves numerous federal lawsuits brought against defendant GlaxoSmithKline PLC, who manufactures the onetime "blockbuster" type 2 diabetes drug Avandia, which has since been pulled from the market in Europe, India and New Zealand and is only available to U.S. patients as a drug of last resort. KBL represents the County of Santa Clara in a claim on behalf of municipalities in the State of California for a return of all money used to purchase this toxic drug. KBL is committed to obtaining justice on behalf of all those harmed by the drug.
